– With the addition of three more attorneys at Martin Law who have received certifications in Workers’ Compensation, the firm now holds the greatest number of certified attorneys in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Attorneys John Dogum, Amit Shah and Joseph Conlan are newly-certified Workers’ Compensation Specialists after successfully taking the Pennsylvania Bar Association (PBA) Workers’ Compensation Section certification exam. Firm founder George Martin and partners Joe Huttemann and Al Carlson previously earned their certifications. Another partner, Matt Wilson, continues to serve on the PBA’s subcommittee that actually formulated the groundbreaking certification standards originally unveiled in 2012. Wilson himself cannot take the test as he is one of the people who contributes to its content.

“Workers’ compensation law is very complex,” said George Martin. “There are so many intricacies, that this certification is very important in distinguishing those professionals who devote the majority of their practice to fight for workers’ rights.”

The certification process requires that attorneys sit for a four-hour exam after proving that they have actively practiced in the area for at least five years and that they dedicate at least half of their practice to workers’ compensation claims. To date, just 181 attorneys in Pennsylvania have successfully navigated the certification process.

The establishment of the process was meant to recognize attorneys in the specialty of Workers’ Compensation and those with a dedicated practice stand out from others who devote only a fraction of their practice to that type of law. As a result, the general public can make an even more informed choice when considering who will represent them during the claims process.

With fourteen attorneys and offices in Bristol, Allentown, Reading and Philadelphia, Martin Law is one of the largest firms in Pennsylvania of its kind, focusing solely on Workers’ Compensation, Social Security Disability, Long Term Disability and Veterans’ Benefits.
