My employer denied my claim for workers' compensation benefits. I think I am entitled to benefits because I can't work. Do I need an attorney to get benefits or can I file a Claim Petition on my own?

Although the law permits a claimant to represent himself, under most circumstances you should hire an attorney to handle petitions before a Workers' Compensation Judge. The employer and insurance company will always have an experienced attorney representing their interests. Therefore, you will have a better chance of winning your case if you hire an experienced attorney to represent your interest.
