Martin Banks Hosts Annual Winter Blood Drive
January 7, 2010
– Martin, Banks, Pond, Lehocky & Wilson will sponsor the Annual Winter Blood Drive for the American Red Cross on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 from 9 am - 3 pm. The Blood Drive will take place on the 19th Floor at 1818 Market Street in Philadelphia. Walk-ins are welcome!

Jerry M. Lehocky to Serve Chairman of the Firm's Executive Committee
December 1, 2009 – Partner Jerry M. Lehocky was voted by the partnership to serve as the Chairman of the Executive Committee. This vote was made and implemented at the most recent partner business retreat.

Samuel H. Pond Appointed to Workers’ Compensation Advisory Council
November 30, 2010 – Attorney Samuel H. Pond has been appointed to serve on the Workers’ Compensation Advisory Council for a two-year term. The Advisory Council focuses on writing legislative recommendations to the Legislators on workers compensation issues.


January 1, 2008  David F. Stern has been named a partner with the Firm.  He has been an associate with the Firm since 2004.

December 1, 2007  John P. Dogum served as faculty for the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association's Program entitled "Liens & Subrogation".  The program, held November 30, 2007, informed attendees about resolving claims with federal benefits, private health insurance, public assistance, welfare, and workers' compensation liens.

November 6, 2007  Martin, Banks, Pond, Lehocky & Wilson attorney John P. Dogum served as faculty with several pre-eminent doctors and leading attorneys in the field for a Continuing Legal Education Seminar entitled "The 4 Common Injuries and Mental Stress Claims in Pennsylvania Workers' Compensation."  The program covered issues in workers' compensation including carpal tunnel syndrome, back injuries, knee and rotator cuff injuries, how to handle mental stress claims, malingering, and how to make informed decisions regarding medico-legal ethics issues.

October 10, 2007  George Martin, Managing Partner of Martin, Banks, Pond, Lehocky & Wilson, served as faculty for the Annual Update for Civil Litigators hosted by the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association (PaTLA).  Mr. Martin discussed major issues in the Pennsylvania workers' compensation area that affect attorneys across the state.

October 1, 2007  Martin, Banks, Pond, Lehocky & Wilson has expanded its workers’ compensation practice with the addition of Melissa R. Chandy as an Associate.  Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Chandy served as a law clerk for the Office of General Counsel - Department of Labor and Industry -Workers’ Compensation Appeal Board.  In her position, she was responsible for drafting opinions of appealed cases for consideration and issuance by the Workers’ Compensation Appeal Board Commissioners.

September 27, 2007   Martin, Banks, Pond, Lehocky & Wilson attorney Alfred Carlson recently served as faculty for workers' compensation clients of Travelers Insurance Company.  Mr. Carlson spoke about recent Pennsylvania workers' compensation law updates and hot issues in the field.  The seminar was held at the Inn at Reading.

September 20, 2007  George Martin, Managing Partner of Martin, Banks, Pond, Lehocky & Wilson served as faculty and Halmon Banks, served on the Advisory Panel for the 23rd Annual Pennsylvania Bar Assocation's Workers' Compensation Fall Section Meeting.  Each year, workers' compensation attorneys and judges gather in Hershey, Pennsylvania for the Fall Section Meeting.  The event offers the opportunity to explore the hottest issues in depth as well as to exchange ideas and experiences informally with colleagues from across the state.  Mr. Martin served as faculty for the Recent Developments in Workers' Compensation Law program.

September 1, 2007  Martin, Banks, Pond, Lehocky & Wilson has expanded its workers' compensation practice with the addition of Amit J. Shah as an Associate.  Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Shah was an associate with a boutique defense firm, handling workers' compensation defense litigation in Pennsylvania.  He brings more than three years of experience in workers' compensation to his position.  Mr. Shah joins the firm to work exclusively on protecting the rights of injured workers in Pennsylvania.

August 1, 2007  Jerry Lehocky has been elected Chair of the Workers' Compensation Section of the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association. The Workers' Compensation Section was established to address the needs of members that represent claimants in workers' compensation matters.

July 18, 2007  George Martin was recently elected President-Elect for the American Association of Justice's (formerly American Trial Lawyers Association) workers' compensation section. He will begin his post next July.
