Maria E. Bermudez is an associate at Martin law and focuses her practice on Social Security Disability and Long-Term Disability (ERISA). Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Bermudez practiced at an international defense firm litigating insurance matters in the areas of life, health, disability and ERISA claims. Previously, she served as a law clerk in the Family Division of the Superior Court of New Jersey. Ms. Bermudez spends considerable time volunteering for community outreach programs, as well as writing for a number of publications including The American Bar Association’s Law Practice Today and The Legal Intelligencer.

Ms. Bermudez is a member of the Young Lawyers Division and Women in the Profession of the Philadelphia Bar Association and serves as the Vice Chair of the Young Lawyers Division. She is also a member of the Minority Bar Committee of the Pennsylvania Bar Association. Ms. Bermudez is the secretary on the Board of Directors for Friends of Farmworkers. In September of 2013, she was selected as a Lawyer on the Fast Track by The Legal Intelligencer. She was appointed to Co-Chair of the Social Security Disability Committee of the Philadelphia Bar Association for 2014 and was elected Board member of the Hispanic Bar Association.

In 2007, Ms. Bermudez earned her law degree from Widener University School of Law. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Rosemont College in 2003. Ms. Bermudez is admitted to practice in State and Federal courts in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. She is NJ State Certified Bilingual Spanish/English.
